Cookie Policy

Effective October 12, 2026

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. "Similar technologies" means things like browser local storage and small scripts (pixels) that do a similar job. This page explains which ones Duskwell uses, why, and how to control them. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

Your choices

The first time you visit, a banner asks what you are happy for us to use. You can accept all, reject everything that is not strictly necessary, or choose category by category. Nothing optional is ticked for you in advance.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time: open Cookie preferences, or use the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page. If you switch something off, the page reloads so it stops running.

Your choice is passed to Shopify's consent system, which is what our store analytics, app pixels and checkout follow. Shopify keeps a record of your choice, and the preferences window shows a consent reference you can quote if you contact us about it. In places where the law requires consent before optional cookies are used, they stay off until you allow them. In most US states they are on by default until you switch them off.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, the cart and checkout will not work.

Strictly necessary — always on

These make the store work, so they cannot be switched off.

  • Shopify store and checkout cookies — keep your cart, run checkout and sign-in, remember your currency and country, protect against fraud and abuse, and remember your cookie choice. Examples: cart, cart_currency, localization, _tracking_consent, secure_customer_sig. Shopify publishes the full list on its cookie page.
  • Things you ask our site to remember — stored only in your browser's local storage and never sent to us: your sleep quiz answers and sleep profile, your wishlist, that you have closed a pop-up, and a copy of your cookie choice and when you made it. Keys start with dw.. Reset your profile or clear your browser storage to remove them.
  • Shop Pay — if you use Shop Pay, Shopify stores a small amount of information to recognise you at checkout.
  • Security check — the opt-out form on our Your Privacy Choices page uses hCaptcha to block automated abuse.

Preferences & live chat — optional

  • Tidio live chat — loads the chat window and remembers your conversation as you move between pages, using browser storage (keys start with tidio_state). With this category off, the chat window does not load; you can still email us.

Analytics — optional

  • Shopify store analytics — counts visits and records which pages are viewed and how people move through the store, so we can see what is working. Examples: _shopify_y, _shopify_s.
  • Judge.me — our review app's pixel, which measures how reviews are used on the site.

Marketing — optional

  • Shopify marketing attribution — tells us which campaign or link brought a visitor to the store.
  • We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies or pixels (such as Meta, Google Ads or TikTok). If we add one, we will update this page first, and it will only run if you allow marketing.

Other third parties that receive basic technical information

Some files are loaded from other providers so the site looks and works as intended: our fonts are served by Google Fonts, and some app scripts are served from content networks. When your browser fetches these files, the provider receives your IP address and browser details, as with any web request. These requests do not set cookies for us.

Changes

We will update this page when the technologies we use change, and change the effective date above.
