Our products are simple, but simple is not the same as right for everyone. Please read the section for your product before first use, along with any instructions in the box. The same information is in the Safety & use section on each product page.
Duskwell products are comfort and sleep-environment products. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition, including sleep apnea or insomnia. Loud, frequent snoring, gasping or pauses in breathing during sleep, or ongoing trouble sleeping, are worth discussing with a doctor.
Mouth tape
Adults only. Never use on children.
Do not use mouth tape if you:
- cannot breathe comfortably through your nose — for example because of a cold, allergies, congestion, or a blocked or deviated septum;
- have, or may have, sleep apnea or another sleep-related breathing disorder;
- have asthma, COPD or another breathing or lung condition, or a heart condition, unless your doctor has said it is suitable for you;
- have drunk alcohol or taken sleeping pills, sedatives or other medicines that make you drowsy;
- feel sick, might vomit, or have reflux that could make you vomit in your sleep;
- are pregnant, unless your doctor has said it is suitable; or
- have broken, chapped or irritated skin on or around your lips.
Before using it overnight, try it while awake for a few minutes and make sure you can remove it quickly yourself. Remove it and stop if you feel short of breath, anxious or uncomfortable, or if your skin becomes red, itchy or sore. Single-use.
Nasal strips
- For adults. Do not use on children unless a doctor has advised it.
- Apply only to clean, dry, unbroken skin. Do not use on sunburned, irritated or freshly exfoliated skin, or if you have reacted to medical tapes or adhesives before.
- Peel off slowly; warm water helps. Stop if redness, itching, blistering or soreness lasts.
- Nasal strips do not treat sleep apnea or any other condition.
Earplugs
- Insert gently into the outer opening of the ear canal. Do not push them deep into the ear.
- Do not use them if you have ear pain, an ear infection, discharge, a perforated eardrum or ear tubes, or after recent ear surgery.
- Earplugs can make smoke alarms, alarm clocks and a crying child harder to hear. Check you can still hear your alarm before relying on it.
- These are sleep earplugs, not hearing protection. They have no noise reduction rating and should not be used at work, at concerts, when shooting or in other loud environments.
- Wash them with mild soap and water and let them dry. Replace them when they lose their shape.
- Small parts can be a choking hazard. Keep them away from children and pets.
Sleep masks
- Stop using a mask if it causes skin irritation, eye discomfort or pressure.
- Keep straps out of reach of young children.
Diffusers
- Place on a flat, stable, water-resistant surface, out of reach of children and pets, and away from bedding, curtains and electronics.
- Use only the cable that came with the diffuser and, for USB models, a USB power adapter in good condition. In the US, use only US-plug versions plugged directly into a US outlet — never with plug adapters or voltage converters.
- Unplug before filling, emptying or cleaning. Fill only to the MAX line. Never put the base in water.
- Empty, rinse and dry it regularly; standing water can grow bacteria and mould.
- Stop using it if it leaks, gets hot, smells of burning, or the cable or plug is damaged.
- In a car, place or hang a diffuser so it cannot block your view, the controls or an airbag, and do not adjust it while driving.
- Diffusers do not purify air or treat any condition.
Essential and fragrance oils
- For use in a diffuser. Do not swallow. If swallowed, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 or get medical help right away.
- Do not apply undiluted to skin. Avoid contact with eyes; if contact happens, rinse with plenty of water.
- Some essential oils can be harmful to pets — especially cats and birds — and to young children. Keep bottles out of reach, make sure pets can leave the room when you diffuse, and ask your vet or doctor if you are unsure.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have asthma or another medical condition, or take medication, check with your doctor before use.
- Oils are flammable. Keep them away from flames, heat and sparks, and store them tightly closed.
Pillows, toppers and bedding
- Not for infants or for use in a crib. Pillows and soft bedding raise the risk of suffocation and sudden infant death for babies under 12 months.
- Our natural latex pillow contains natural rubber latex. Do not use it if you or anyone who will use it is allergic to latex.
- New foam and latex can have a mild smell at first. Air them in a ventilated room for a day or two.
- Keep toppers and bedding away from open flames, candles and heaters, and follow the care label.
