- Place it on a flat, stable, water-resistant surface, out of reach of children and pets, and away from bedding, curtains and electronics.
- Use only the cable that came with it (and, for USB models, a USB power adapter in good condition). Do not use it if the cable or plug is damaged.
- Fill with clean, room-temperature water up to the MAX line only. Never fill it while it is plugged in.
Essential oils
- A few drops are enough. Use only oils meant for diffusing, and keep the room ventilated.
- Some essential oils can be harmful to pets, especially cats and birds, and to young children. Make sure pets can leave the room, and ask your vet or doctor if you are unsure.
- If you are pregnant, or have asthma or another breathing condition, check with your doctor before diffusing oils.
Care
- Unplug before filling, emptying or cleaning. Never put the base in water.
- Empty, rinse and dry it regularly. Do not leave water standing in it for days; standing water can grow bacteria and mould.
- Stop using it if it leaks, gets hot, smells of burning, or the cable is damaged.
